A COMMUNITY group will take over the management of public toilets at a Somerford play park.
Christchurch council has agreed for the Friends and Residents of Grange Ward (FROGS) to open and clean the toilets at Waterman’s Park over a six-month period.
The move comes following calls for the toilets at the popular play area to be more frequently for public use.
The sports pavilion is currently owned and managed by the council.
The toilets are currently only opened when a football match is taking place but from June 7 the opening hours will be increased through a phased approach.
At the end of the six month trial period the council will review the success of the initiative with FROGS.
