THE five-piece metal band from Bournemouth has been creating a serious noise since their inception in 2012. They have gained a huge amount of fans from the UK and overseas, and are a very notable act on the south coast metal scene.

Last year saw the release of their second EP Rebirthing, which gained them prestigious support slots for notable bands such as Unearth, Crossfaith, Dead By April, Being As An Ocean, Malefice and many more.

Writing and recording of their debut album will take place later this year.

Speaking of their winning Unsigned track, band member Johnny Halpin said: "Griever are monumentally pleased that we have earned this title on the first week. We never thought the day we contacted Bournemouth's most renowned newspaper we would be given a shot - But here we are. A massive thank you to their team.“

We find it extremely important to bring the metal scene back to Bournemouth and the South Coast, as it is a fantastic genre that is often overlooked in the general public.

Please do come down to a local show, have a chat with us, and enjoy the music. We are sure that you will leave the venue as a fan.”

  • You can catch Griever live at The Anvil on Holdenhurst Road on Monday, April 28.
