RED-HEADED songstress Paloma Faith returns with her third album A Perfect Contradiction.
Here, she takes a fresh funk-soul vibe, most likely down to the influence collaborator Pharrell Williams had on the album’s debut single Can’t Rely On You.
Tracks Mouth To Mouth and Impossible Heart are reminiscent of classic disco, but the album also includes a number of more classic Paloma-style records such as Only Love Can Hurt Like This – which she performed at Burberry’s show during London Fashion Week.
Taste My Own Tears is one of the stand-out tracks, featuring a sample of Sam Cooke’s A Change Is Gonna Come as she manages to take hints of the classic ballad up-tempo.
And she tempts Ben Drew’s Plan B back into soul with Other Woman. Three albums in, this east London girl still knows how to stand out from the crowd.
