As we sit at our computers for hours on end trying to find the perfect quote or that great fact that completes any assignment, we tend to divert from the work and sneak onto Facebook or Youtube to see what videos we can watch to fill our time and send to our friends. Here are some that thousands of us have been procrastinating with this week:

1. History of Rap

One that has been circling the Internet a lot this week (over 3,460,490 views) is History of Rap 5.  This video is taken from The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake, in the fifth installment of the History of Rap. They rap their way through generations of Hip-Hop legends, from Run DMC, through to Jay Z and Ludacris, it’s all very well choreographed, making it a comedy genius.

2. Cats clapping paws - Dansons la capucine

Now, you can’t have a list of top videos of the week without including at least one animal clip, and this particular video combines dancing cats, French accents and the most random voiceover ever… What more you could ask for?

3. Pussy Riot attacked with whips by police at Sochi

During the last couple of weeks, we have been glued to our screens watching the Sochi Winter Olympics with high-speed events like the ski and snowboard races.

However, pre-tournament concerns over Russia’s poor human rights standards were reaffirmed after a video depicting abuse of controversial band Pussy Riot was leaked.

Having staged an impromptu performance underneath a Sochi advertising banner, the punk group was attacked by Cossack militia using pepper spray and whips. To date the video has received over 1.3 million hits.

4. Dad In A Box Soldier Father's Surprise Homecoming

This adorable three year old girl is unwrapping her birthday present, when out pops her dad, home from the army, the reaction will melt your heart.

5. Human Loop the Loop with Damien Walters - Pepsi Max. Unbelievable #LiveForNow

Stunt-man and gymnast Damien Walters spent over four months with scientists planning to run upside down on a Loop the Loop. They built a 10ft high Loop the Loop and the scientists used calculations to show that it was possible to complete the seemingly gravity-defying feat.

It’s a really inspiring video, even if it is a Pepsi max advert!
