ROLL UP! Roll up! The theme of next year’s Camp Bestival can be revealed today.

And campers should pack their clown costumes- because in 2014 they are off to the circus.

The three-day family festival, which is held in the grounds of Lulworth Castle, will be taking place between July 31 and August 3 next year.

And it’s set to be a sell-out, with half of tickets snapped up already.

Organiser Rob da Bank said theme is always a hot subject among Camp Bestival staff, but the site already lends itself to being transformed in to a circus because of the Big Top stage and other attractions.

He said he can’t wait to tell campers about the artists, family shows and guest speakers gracing the stages at next summer’s festival.

He said: “This year we went a bit braver on the headliners.

“Next year we’re going back to more of what we’ve done before- three big headliners and then some really big family shows.

“Anybody who’s been to Camp Bestival knows that things like Horrible Histories and Mr Tumble draw in the crowds.

“They get huge crowds just like the headliners, sometimes bigger than the headliners.

“Although it’s a quiet time of the year for festivals, amazingly we’ve sold half the tickets already.”

Work to plan next year’s event started as soon as this year’s was over.

There is competition to snap up artists, so Rob and the team are working hard to ensure they get the best acts.

“Festival agents like exclusivity so I’ve got to be really on the ball this time of year,” said Rob.

“I just want to say thank you to everyone who’s supported us and bought tickets already.

“This is the first of a lot of announcements.”

Campers are encouraged to come dressed to theme, so expect to see a host of circus characters, Rob said.

As well as big names like Richard Hawley, the Levellers and Labyrinth, last year festival-goers got an extra surprise when a couple of fans got hitched at the event.

Rob said he is happy to hear from anyone with similar plans at Camp Bestival.
