A NEW book featuring stunning pictures of Dorset’s towns and villages is soon to go on sale.

The 176-page coffee table volume is published by the Daily Echo and Dorset Echo and features many pictures sent in by readers during a competition that ran earlier in the year in association with Castle Cameras.

It also includes some of the best pictures that our staff photographers have taken around the county.

The book, entitled Dorset: A Photographic Journey Through Towns and Villages, is sponsored by Brendoncare.

There is a section dedicated to each part of Dorset – West Dorset, Portland, Weymouth, Dorchester, Purbeck, North Dorset, East Dorset, Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch.

Each section shows the beauty and diversity of our county, from the sandy beaches of Bournemouth and Poole to the rugged Jurassic Coast of Purbeck and West Dorset.

From chocolate box villages to the Millionaires’ Row of Sandbanks, the book showcases the beauty of every aspect of Dorset.

Toby Granville, Group Editor of the Daily Echo and Dorset Echo, said: “I’m delighted that we produced the latest in our series of fantastic Dorset Photographic Journey books.

“This one features fantastic pictures highlighting the beauty of Dorset’s towns and villages and it will make a great addition to those collecting our series of books, as well as making an ideal Christmas present.”

The book is priced at £14.95 and will be on sale at bookshops around the area, as well as Echo offices, from Friday, November 1.
