IT was a night to remember for William Kenney as he was crowned student of the year at the annual Bournemouth and Poole College awards ceremony for his outstanding work and impressive contributions to college life.
The Health and Medical Studies student, from Kinson, was the popular choice for the award in the college’s centenary year and he received his award from inspirational businesswoman and motivational speaker Ruth Amos.
More than 150 of William’s peers, parents and college staff attended the student “Oscars” night which was held at the Lighthouse, Poole.
There was recognition for students in every college department including the award of Apprentice of the Year to Tamsin Ralphs from the Building Services department.
“What a great honour. I feel very humble.
“All the students here are talented and enthusiastic” said William.
College principal Lawrence Vincent praised college staff and support staff for keeping standards high at the college but reserved his highest praise for the students who have been hard working and dedicated throughout this milestone year.
“I would urge you all not to become complacent but to keep working hard and the rewards will come your way,” he said.
