AN event to help Purbeck housing association tenants swap homes takes place next month.
The ‘Mutual Exchange’ event is set for the Purbeck District Council’s Westport House headquarters on November 7.
Cllr Mike Lovell, district council housing & development spokesman , said: “As a result of changes to the government’s Welfare Reform Act some tenants will be facing reductions in their housing benefit entitlement.
“These tenants may wish to move to smaller accommodation which is more appropriate for their family size. This in turn can help a family living in a house that is too small for them.”
The event will be run with Synergy Housing, Ragalan Housing, Spectrum Housing Group and Sovereign.
Cllr Lovell said: “If you live in a housing association property in Purbeck come along to our event to find out more about mutual exchanges and see if you can meet someone who can swap homes with you.”
The home-swap event takes place from 6.30-9pm.
