POOLE residents will be invited to give their opinions on transport services in a survey this month.

The questionnaire will be sent to a random selection of 4,500 people in Poole and the results are expected to be published in early autumn.

Views on the quality of local bus services in Poole to the condition of the roads and footways will be compared with 70 other local authorities across England.

Councillor Xena Dion, cabinet portfolio holder for a prosperous and sustainable Poole said: “We hope as many residents as possible will take part in this survey to help us prioritise and improve our services.

“We appreciate that it takes time to complete a survey and sometimes feel their views may not be acted on or heeded, but we view this survey as a really important source of feedback which truly does help us plan ahead.”

The survey is a being run for the sixth year by the National Highways and Transport Network and the South West Highway Service Improvement Group.

Participaion in the survey is voluntary and the 12-page questionnaire should be completed in 20 minutes.
