ARMED police have carried out a second drugs raid of the day in the Boscombe area.

Earlier today, the Daily Echo reported that officers were at J Autos in Colville Road, with officers examining the premises.

At 3pm, police were at Wharncliffe Road to execute a warrant.

Three police cars and a van are at the scene. Armed officers were involved in the raid.

Three men were led away from the scene in handcuffs by officers.

Ward councillor Chris Wakefield, who was on the scene, told the Daily Echo: “They were given some information earlier today.

“They have acted immediately on that intelligence on a property that’s known to them.

“I was at the briefing and I found it very professional. They did not leave anything to chance and they were looking at every eventuality.

“It’s good we have the police on the streets, they have come out in force, are very visible to residents and are acting on information from the public.

“I would encourage members of the Bournemouth and Boscombe community to contact the police on 101 if they have any intelligence on anti-social and drug-related behaviour in their area so we can see more warrants being executed.”

Insp Chris Weeks, of Dorset Police, urged the community to continue to pass information on drug activity to them.
