BOURNEMOUTH University’s student run TV station, JUMP TV, has won Best Live and Best Sport at the National Student Television Association Awards (NaSTA).
NaSTA supports and promotes student run television stations from all over the country and JUMP was recognised in the top five for four categories. As the newest station at the awards, this emphasises how successful it has been so far.
JUMP TV was established in January 2013 after the University ran its own coverage of the 2012 Elections in November.
Best Live and Best Sport are two very prestigious awards, especially to be the first for JUMP. Jasper Taylor, station manager, said he was ‘overwhelmed’ at the success of the newly established TV Station.
“It was lovely to see an idea having progressed so far that we were competing on a national scale.”
JUMP TV covers news, sports, music and entertainment and is completely student run. The station frequently uploads programmes to their very own YouTube channel, JUMPTVBU.
