A TEENAGE boy is fighting for his life after a crash on a country road near Bovington.

The 14 year old suffered serious head injuries when a green Land Rover overturned at Clouds Hill, near Bovington, at 3.30pm on Saturday.

A woman in her thirties suffered leg injuries in the crash. Both were being treated at the Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester. The boy has since been transferred to Southampton Hospital.

They were among five people travelling in the Land Rover, registered to an owner from Dorchester, when the collision happened.

Police said that it was the only vehicle involved in the crash.

Firefighters from Wareham and Bere Regis attended along with police and paramedics.

The road was closed while firefighters freed the casualties from the Land Rover and police arranged recovery of the vehicle.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash.

Police spokesman Bob Humphries said: "At approximately 3.30pm a single vehicle collision occurred at Clouds Hill, Bovington, towards Tincleton, which resulted in an occupant of that vehicle sustaining serious and life threatening injuries."

Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said that the vehicle has turned onto its side and that crews attended.
