AN ELECTRICAL fault caused the Condor Express fast ferry to return to port shortly after setting out from Poole to the Channel Islands on Friday morning.
The 8.15am sailing had to be cancelled and while some passengers were transferred to the conventional ferry service from Portsmouth, others were hoping to catch the Saturday morning fast ferry.
“Unfortunately, due to an electrical fault with two of the four generators onboard, the service has been cancelled,” said Capt Fran Collins, operations director Condor Ferries.
“All passengers due to travel on the fast ferry service today (Friday) are being transferred to the conventional ferry sailing which operates from Portsmouth and where necessary are being accommodated in hotels overnight.”
