BOURNEMOUTH council is building two new council houses in Boscombe.

The two three-bedroom family homes, in St Clement’s Gardens, will be part of the council's housing stock and available to those on the housing register.

Councillor Robert Lawton, Cabinet Member for Housing, said: “Providing affordable housing is a key priority for the Council, particularly the development of good quality family housing.

“The development at St Clement’s Gardens is one of several schemes that are being put forward to provide 105 new council homes in the borough.

"This will not only go some way in helping to alleviate those residents currently on the Council’s housing register but also contribute positively to the regeneration of Boscombe.”

The work is being funded by £283,000 from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), prudential borrowing and other funding sources and the houses should be finished by July.
