THE Boathouse in Christchurch has been given permission to serve alcohol without a meal.
Members of Christchurch council’s licensing sub-committee granted permission for the change in the eatery’s licence, which was supported by a number of customers and residents.
The owners of the Boathouse, which is situated at Christchurch Quay, assured members the character of the premises would remain a cafe bar and restaurant, with a minimum of 55 covers reserved for dining at all times.
Food will be available at all times when the premises are open for the sale of alcohol, except for the final hour before closing.
