A PETITION calling for a reduction in the speed limit along a Christchurch road will go before Dorset County councillors later this month.
Residents of Marsh Lane in Christchurch presented their 84-signature petition to Christchurch council last year.
It voices concerns about the 30mph speed limit along the road from the junction of Marsh Lane and Suffolk Avenue along Bronte Avenue as well.
Dorset county councillors sitting on the Roads and Rights of Way committee will consider how to respond to the petition on January 17.
A report to councillors shows there have been two accidents along the road in the past five years. To designate a road a 20mph zone, average speeds need to be no higher than 24mph.
If speeds are higher, calming will be implemented.
