IT might not be the Olympics , but there’s just as much Lycra on show when the wrestling comes to the Bournemouth Pavilion on Tuesday.

Grapple fans will be able to catch all the grunt and groan action with half nelsons, neck scissors and the infamous camel clutch among moves demonstrated by the professional wrestlers.

Zack Sabre Jr, currently the biggest star in British wrestling, tops the bill when he defends the Premier Wrestling Federation middleweight title against James Danmar.

It will be Sabre’s first Bournemouth appearance since he defeated the WWE-bound Zulu Prince to win the coveted Ken Joyce Trophy last Christmas, one of a number of stand-out displays that earned him the 2011 Wrestler of the Year award.

Tuesday’s show will be the only chance for Bournemouth fans to see Sabre in action before he flies out, and Danmar, a fierce competitor whose own performances have propelled him into the title spotlight in double-quick time, will be determined to send him packing without the PWF belt.

It promises to be a thriller and the supporting card is not bad, either, with a number of Pavilion favourites in action, including Dazzling Darrell Allen and the welterweight title-holder Barry Cooper.

The show, the first of three big Tuesday night dates during August, starts at 7.30pm.
