FREEWAY Poets is a new spoken word night at Bournemouth’s Winchester pub.
Already this year it has played host to sets by Will Stopha and Dizraeli (pictured).
The next meet, on July 14 will feature Tshaka Menelik Imhotep Campbell, writer/poet/ reincarnated griot, otherwise known as TarMan who’s on a mission to change oral traditions.
Inua elms, Raymond Antrobus and the extraordinary Polar Bear are lined up for future dates.
“It’s also an open stage for anyone who would like to come along and share their work as well as a chance for people to see some amazing names in the poetry world,” says Louise Keeley from the Winchester.
“Freeway Poets is bringing the best in established new poets, mixing it with live illustration and opening the floor to everyone who has poetry, spoken work or rhyme to share.”
There’s also a cake stall!
