LONDON’s West End and now the critically acclaimed Chichester Festival Theatre production of the musical Singin’ In the Rain is hot-footing it into Southampton to play the Mayflower theatre from Tuesday until October 5.
The show stars stage and screen leading man Maxwell Caulfield as studio boss RF Simpson, and Coronation Street favourite, Vicky Binns, as starlet Lina Lamont. Maxwell Caulfield is probably most famous for playing Miles Colby in the legendary TV series Dynasty as well as The Colbys, but is most recently remembered by TV audiences as Mark Wylde in ITV’s Emmerdale and Dr Jim Brodie in BBC1’s Casualty and Holby City.
He said he was “beyond thrilled” to be in the show.
“As a huge fan of the original movie, the chance to bring this story to life on stage is something I couldn’t pass up and it’ll be great visiting some of the beautiful theatres on the tour, some I’ve been to previously, some are going to be a brand new experience for me. Theatre work is a huge passion of mine and I’ve dealt with a few studio bosses in my time too,” he said.
Singin’ In the Rain features the songs Make ’em Laugh, Good Morning, Moses Supposes and of course Singin’ in the Rain.
Tickets are on sale from The Mayflower Box Office. Alternatively call 023 8071 1811.
