‘ANYTHING GOES’ as the Wimborne Musical Theatre group bring this fast-paced show to the Tivoli Theatre next month.
The action takes place aboard the ocean liner SS American, where nightclub singer Reno Sweeney is en route from New York to England.
Her pal Billy Crocker has stowed away to be near his love, Hope Harcourt, but the problem is Hope is engaged to the wealthy Lord Evelyn Oakleigh.
Joining this love triangle on board the luxury liner are public enemy Moonface Martin and his sidekick-in-crime Erma.
With the help of some elaborate disguises, tap-dancing sailor girls and good old-fashioned black-mail, Reno and Moonface join forces to help Billy in his quest to win Hope’s heart.
Anything Goes is a shining example of classic musical theatre, complete with tap num-bers, campy jokes, unlikely happy endings and eminently hummable songs like De-Lovely, I Get A Kick Out Of You and Anything Goes, courtesy of the unforgettable score by Cole Porter.
Taking place at the Tivoli Theatre from today until Saturday, show times are 7.30pm with a matinee performance at 2.30pm on the Saturday.
Tickets are on sale now.
