PLANS for this month’s inaugural Bournemouth Food and Drink Festival have been unveiled.

The event which takes place in the town centre from Friday July 29 to Sunday July 31, celebrates the best of international culture, food, wine, beer and community spirit.

The tapas-style event will enable restaurants and food producers from around the area to highlight their signature dishes and fare.

Local Chef David Whiffen from the Royal Bath Hotel said: “This is such an exciting event to be part of, and to have all varieties of food on one platform is a great way to encourage young chefs to the trade.”

Delicatessens will display their produce alongside regional farmers in the markets and local restaurant chefs will show off their skills in cookery demonstrations using locally sourced ingredients with international flair.

Managing Director of the award winning Green House Hotel said: “The Festival gives Bournemouth the opportunity to show what an amazing array of local produce we have on our doorstep, and introduce residents and visitors alike to some of the fantastic restaurants the town has to offer.

“It's a great showcase for food and drink businesses from Bournemouth and the surrounding area."
