IF a pint of Guinness sounds a bit too heavy for you, raise a glass to St. Patrick with these Irish themed cocktails.
Black Velvet
1/2 flute of champagne
1/2 a flute of Guinness
Pour the champagne into a flute, when the bubbles have rested, tilt the glass and top with Guinness.
Irish Mule
35ml whiskey
ginger beer
angostura bitters
lime
Fill a highball glass with ice, add whiskey and a dash of angostura bitters. Top up with ginger beer and a wedge of lime.
St Patrick’s Day Hot Toddy
60ml whiskey
2 cloves
lime
demerara sugar
Pour the whiskey into a teacup or glass and add two cloves, a freshly cut slice of lime, spoonful of sugar or honey to sweeten. Top with boiling water, stir well, and sip slowly.
