Bryndzové Halušky is potato dumplings with bryndza sheep cheese and bacon.
Considering the bryndza might be tricky to get hold of, the Hairy Bikers have a recipe on hand using feta instead.
Bryndzove Halusky
700g potatoes
300g fine whole wheat flour
250g feta cheese
160g smoked bacon, fried in butter
Butter for frying
Salt to taste
1. Peel and grate raw potatoes and mix with flour and add a little water if necessary.
2. Add salt to taste
3. Boil until they float to the surface.
4. Make small balls with a tea spoon and carefully lower into bubbling salted water.
5. Remove from the water and rinse with water.
6. Mix with feta cheese.
7. Serve with the fried bacon.
