AS my friend and I wandered through Westbourne on a rare, sunny summer’s evening, looking for somewhere to have a bite to eat and a cocktail, we were lured into Soho’s modern and shiny interior by a "buy one pizza, get one free" offer.

Although it’s perhaps a little dark as you get further into Soho, the atmosphere was cosy and intimate and the bar staff very friendly.

We took our drinks (two purple fizz cocktails) outside on to the tastefully designed terrace where we could sit, peruse the menu and soak up the last of the evening rays.

I opted for a Soho Thai beef pizza and my friend chose the Soho Julio pizza.

When you order in Soho, you receive a buzzy gadget gismo thing that flashes, vibrates and gives you the fright of your night when your food is ready for collection.

Due to the fact that Soho was playing host to a number of parties, the staff apologetically informed us that there would be a wait for our food, which wasn’t a problem as we were enjoying our cocktails on the terrace.

When the buzzy gadget gizmo jumped into life I went off to collect our huge pizzas, which were presented on pizza boards and handed to me by the chef himself.

Both dishes looked very impressive. My Thai beef pizza had delicious, succulent slices of sirloin steak on it, which had been marinated in Thai spices.

The beef was complemented beautifully by mushrooms and spring onion and overall the pizza was divine and the spices didn’t overpower the other flavours.

My friend’s reports of the Julio were just as glowing. She is renowned for being a fussy eater but the combination of the thin, crispy base and a healthy supply of tasty toppings won her over.

Her chicken was cooked to juicy perfection, with the bacon and spicy sausage adding some lovely flavours.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening on Soho’s terrace.

The food was wonderful, the cocktails fizzed down nicely and we were both very impressed, as girls are, with the decor in the ladies!

For two pizzas and a good few drinks the bill came to a very reasonable £45.
