THE chance to catch a golden age musical classic receive the West End treatment once again is just around the corner for Prestatyn.

Screening live from the London Palladium following a successful showing in November, the multi-award winning and critically acclaimed Lincoln Center Theatre’s production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King And I comes to the Prestatyn Scala once again on Thursday, April 4.

Set in 1860s Bangkok, the musical tells the story of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam, played by frequent Christopher Nolan collaborator Ken Watanabe and Anna, played by six time Tony award winning actor Kelli O’Hara - who won the prestigious award in 2015 for the same role.

This time tested masterpiece follows the story of a British schoolteacher whom the modernist King, in an imperialistic world, brings to Siam to teach his many wives and children and boasts one of the finest scores ever written including tunes like Whistle a Happy Tune, Getting to Know You, and Shall We Dance.

Tickets for the Scala are £15, available from merlinprestatyn.admit-one.eu.
