Bob Geldof’s Boomtown Rats, indie stalwarts The Charlatans and Mercury prize-winning singer-songwriter Badly Drawn Boy have been added to the line-up for this year’s Latitude festival.

Now in its 10th year, the music and arts event at Henham Park, Suffolk, will be headlined by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Portishead and Alt-J.

The new acts for the July 16 event were announced today and add to a line-up which also includes theatre, dance, poetry and literature performances.

Among the big names in the theatre arena is Ruby Wax and there will also be performances from Sadler’s Wells contemporary dance company.

Set in a picturesque country park, this year’s anniversary event will continue a tradition of offering festival-goers a diverse range of attractions.

New additions include lake swimming, hot-tubs and a holistic spa area.

Founder Melvin Benn previously promised the line-up for the four-day festival would be “as strong as it is broad”.
