FEATHERS, sequins, wires and candyfloss clouds. Katy Perry certainly knows how to perform with style.

Aided by her dancers that included life-size puppet gingerbread men and a video story, she delivered a performance filled with drama and spectacle.

Perry arrived into Candyfornia in the same way she left, to thunderous applause. She proceeded to have more costume changes than the audience could count, which combined with the lighting kept the audience on their toes.

The show had some more peculiar features for example, such as unexplained pieces of meat hanging from the ceiling.

However it was Perry’s voice that shone through all the showmanship, especially when singing with acoustic guitar.

There was a lot of audience interaction and she seemed to be enjoying herself whilst dancing around in stilettos.

The support acts were also well received. Yelle’s performance showed an artist with great promise as a talented vocalist.

These provided a high-energy start to the concert with DJ Skeet Skeet also rocking the crowd with a colourful performance of party songs.

The entire night had an excited atmosphere and Katy Perry has come a long way from her gospel roots.
