The Bank Holiday weekend rocked ’n’ rolled its way into Kyps on Saturday night with From the Jam and One Man Destruction Show both entertaining the crowd in their own impressive ways.

One Man Destruction Show was just that – a one man rock and roll vehicle who played guitar and maracas while singing.

A completely different act to any other, OMDS enticed the crowd into his multi-talented world from the start of his set and didn’t let go until the very end. Songs including Paperskin and Race Car were much enjoyed by all and following on from this superb warm-up were mod rockers From The Jam.

With their brilliant line up of Russell Hastings, Mark Brzezicki and Bruce Foxton this smart band are no ordinary tribute act. Russell sang with a heartfelt passion that was pumped into every line and the crowd were more than happy to listen to him singing some of the Jam’s best songs.

Opening up their set with the 1978 classic Down in the Tube Station at Midnight the crowd sang every line and the packed venue was charged up for the night.

Bruce and Mark were both hugely impressive – their amazing bass lines and drum beats underpinning every one of the songs played including The Butterfly Collector and 'The Modern World.

As an original Jam member Bruce still has the power to play like a real guitar hero. Now that’s entertainment.
