LENNY Henry comes to the big screen at the Regent in Christchurch in the critically acclaimed The Comedy of Errors.

As part of a season of live satellite broadcasts from the National Theatre in London, the play will be shown on March 1 at 7pm followed by two encore showings on March 2 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

This is a brand new and contemporary staging of Shakespeare’s furiously paced comedy.

Lenny Henry shines as Antipholus of Syracuse in this tale of two sets of twins who are separated at birth, then collide in the same city for one crazy day of multiple mistaken identities that lead to confusion on a grand scale. Antipholus of Syracuse and his servant, Dromio, come in search of their brothers in the buzzing metropolis.

Meanwhile, Aegeon, father of the Antipholus twins, has been captured whilst searching for his sons and has been sentenced to death at sunset. A Comedy of Errors is one of the highlights of this third season of NT Live.
