WITH Oasis in disarray, their long-time buddies Kasabian can consider the baton well and truly passed as they prepare to round off a frantic year with a UK arena tour that will now end at the BIC on November 25.

Tickets for the new show that was only added to the tour on Monday, October 5, were going on sale at 9am on Thursday, October 8, from usual outlets.

The band – Serge Pizzorno (guitar/vocals), Tom Meighan (vocals), Chris Edwards (bass) and Ian Matthews (drums), with live guitarist Jay Mehler and keyboards man Ben Kealey – have played to more than a million fans this summer, including a sell-out 20-date headline tour that included Southampton Guildhall in July and nine stadium dates with Oasis; not to mention their Glastonbury bash as special guests of The Boss himself, Bruce Springsteen.

Oh, and their Mercury-nominated, chart-topping third album, West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum, was released to slavering reviews and has gone on to shift more than 300,000 copies so far.

But if fans are in any doubt about turning out to see Kasabian again in November, Tom Meighan has been widely proclaiming that old pal Noel Gallagher will join them on the tour.

“He’s a performing machine and loves playing live so he jumps at the opportunity whenever he can join us,” the singer told the News of the World.
