MORE top acts have been announced for this year’s Larmer Tree festival.

They include Tom Odell, Squeeze, Frank Turner, pictured, Staff Benda Bilili, Stornoway, Dreadzone and Public Service Broadcasting.

They join Wednesday night head-line act Tom Jones at the festival in July. More names are still to be announced, including a full comedy programme.

The festival takes place for five days in the magical Larmer Tree gardens, a stunning Victorian park near Salisbury on the Wiltshire /Dorset border, from July 16.

More than 100 acts will perform on six stages, alongside a comedy club featuring big-name headliners, Mark Kermode’s Film Club, theatre, a variety of workshops and a range of children's entertainment.

Festival co-director James Shepard said: “We’re really excited and tremendously proud to present our 2014 music programme.

“This year looks set to have the strongest music line-up we have ever managed to put together over the 24 years of Larmer Tree Festival.

“It’s going to be an unmissable event and I just can’t wait for it to start.”

Nominated for Best British Male and Breakthrough Act at the 2014 BRITs, Tom Odell is the Sunday headliner and has been dubbed dubbed ‘a one-man Coldplay’.

Thursday night’s head-liner Squeeze will bring trademark witty kitchen-sink lyricism and new-wave guitar music to the party.

Frank Turner, accompanied by his band The Sleeping Souls, headlines the Friday night. Festival-goers can look forward to Frank’s sing-along folk-punk anthems.

Staff Benda Bilili are street music-ians from Kinshasa, Con-go. The core of the band is four paraplegic singers and guitarists backed by an all-acoustic rhythm section.

Weekend tickets are priced from £150, with discounts for children and teenagers. Under-5s go free. Single day tickets are available from 10am today. Details at larmertree festival.co.uk
