CONGRATULATIONS are in order for Dutch retro pop singer Caro Emerald, who announced yesterday that she will be expecting her first child.

However, the new arrival will mean that her appearance at the BIC next year on March 8 will now be moved to October.

Tickets for The Shocking Miss Emerald Tour are still valid. Emerald's exuberant mix of vintage jazz, beats and pop is rooted in the past yet thoroughly modern with its blend of samples and scratching and the rhythms and style of yesteryear.

She released her debut album, Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor, in 2010 and her career has hit new peaks with the May arrival of album number two, The Shocking Miss Emerald, which entered the British – and Dutch – charts at number one.

She now has 2.5 million record sales, 15 platinum discs, 32 million YouTube views and a host of international awards to her name.

The Shocking Miss Emerald Tour will follow Emerald's sold-out 14-date British tour this month, in a year when she already has played shows in Bournemouth in March and the Royal Albert Hall.
