Loudon Wainwright III
GRAMMY award-winning American songwriter Loudon Wainwright III pays a visit to the Lighthouse Poole next Saturday. Part of a huge famous musical family, Loudon is the father of musicians Rufus Wainwright and Martha Wainwright, as well as being the former husband of the late folk singer Kate McGarrigle.
He also has a CV boasting Grammy awards and acclaimed albums, as well as roles in films directed by Tim Burton, Martin Scorsese and Cameron Crowe, and is regarded as one of the great US storytellers.
Loudon Wainwright III is a true one-off and his songs have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Earl Scruggs, Rufus Wainwright and Mose Allison, among others.
