POLICE were called to a school in Bournemouth after receiving reports of vehicles parking on double yellow lines and a mini roundabout.

Officers from Bournemouth Police attended Bearwood Primary and Nursery School on Barons Road this morning as drivers were seen parking “dangerously” outside the school.

A number of motorists were spoken to and asked to move on.

Parents have said that school drop offs and pick ups at the school have been “particularly challenging” whilst work is under way to install a new zebra crossing on close to the school.

However, police have urged commuters to be respectful of road markings, especially during these times.

A spokesman from Bournemouth Police said: “PCSO's were outside Bearwood Primary and Nursery School on Barons Road this morning.

“This was following reports of school drop off and pick up times being particularly challenging whilst the new zebra crossing is being installed on King John Avenue.

"There were reports of vehicles parking on double yellow lines and even the mini roundabout. Several people were spoken to and moved on today.

“This is a reminder to please be considerate and not park dangerously. The double yellow lines are there for a reason and to protect all those using the road, especially the children at these times.”
