After more than eighty years, major independent furniture and homeware retailer Sturtons and Tappers will shortly close the doors of its landmark Wimborne shop for the final time and focus entirely on the Winton branch.

This week, Sturtons and Tappers will launch their closing down sale so they can clear out all the stock prior to closing.

Director David Scott says the decision to close Sturtons Tappers Wimborne branch was taken with great regret.

"We’ve been a fixture in the heart of Wimborne since before the war, but unfortunately the Wimborne building is quirky, with many steps, levels and small rooms and is virtually impossible to bring it up to standards required for a modern retail business."

Wimborne shoppers will be able to take advantage of a spectacular closing down sale starting this Friday 25th June when all the stock in the store and at the warehouse will be priced to clear.

"We’ve enjoyed such great support from customers over the years its nice to be able to mark the end of an era with unrepeatable bargains in all departments," said Mr Scott.

The closing down sale will see big price reductions on upholstery, dining, beds and bedroom, textiles and homeware as all the stock must be sold off.

The sale features many of the country’s most prestigious furniture brands including G Plan, Parker Knoll, Celebrity, Harrison, Hypnos and Sealy.

It will be on for a limited time only from Friday.

Shoppers on the lookout for a great bargain for their home should waste no time in visiting the Sturtons Tappers store in East Street, Wimborne.

Sturtons and Tappers will continue to trade from the Winton store from where they will continue to provide sales and service after the Wimborne branch has closed.
