HOPPER Julia Ann SRN:RSCN:SCM Peacefully at home on 3rd January, 2021 aged 87 years. Former Director of Nursing at Royal Victoria, Christchurch; Royal National, and Phase I Bournemouth General Hospitals. With Dr Ronnie Fisher, planned and implemented the first hospice-type care and its Specialised Nurses in the NHS. The MacMillan Unit opened at Christchurch Hospital in February 1975. Julia worked in the NHS for 39 years in Manchester, Sheffield, York and Dundee before moving to East Dorset in 1971. "In Thy presence there is fulness of joy." Psalm 16 v11.
