IN response to S Chilcott’s letter (February 9) regarding retirement dates, I too was quite devastated not only to learn that my retirement is to be five years later than I expected, but also that I do not get my concessionary travel pass until the year of my 66th birthday.
This latter point is to me the hardest blow, and I feel that when I do approach my 60th birthday it may now be with a heavy heart, rather than with a spring in my step to the nearest bus stop for a day out.
