I read with sadness and disappointment that Bournemouth Borough Council see fit to pay its chief executive a sum in excess of £125,000 per year (Daily Echo, September 20).
I see little evidence that the present incumbent has been a spectacular success during her time in this appointment.
She may now like to follow the lead of the Prime Minister by accepting a voluntary reduction in salary to reflect the unfortunate financial situation the country finds itself in today.
A modest cut of, say, 10 per cent would enable a part time care worker to continue in post and would still leave Ms Donnellan with more than £100,000 a year to play with.
