I am 31 weeks’ pregnant and have very nearly been run over twice at the set of traffic lights outside the Walkabout bar on Old Christchurch Road in Bournemouth.

Thankfully, the drivers spotted I was crossing (at a red light) both times and were able to swerve to miss me.

Naturally this left me very shaken and upset.

I felt I came within a inch of losing my baby.

I am aware that it is a fairly straight stretch of road and the traffic there is relatively light given how close to Bournemouth town centre it is, but surely something can be done to prevent this from happening?

I no longer feel safe using this public crossing and now walk further down to the roundabout in the hope that drivers must slow down to use it.

I feel, if I were to continue using this crossing, it would only be a matter of time before I was hit, hospitalised and lost my baby.

I have no choice but to use this road regularly.

It’s high time someone sorted this out and drivers had a bit more consideration for people using traffic lights and even try to look out for them!
