In Have Your Say, 26th June, Tony Fowle congratulates the Con-Lib Dem coalition on their proposal to link the basic state pension to earnings which was “disgracefully withdrawn by Margaret Thatcher in 1980”.
Tony – you and the older electorate have been Lib/Conned.
Before April 2011 when we OAPs are “guaranteed” a 2.5 per cent increase in basic pensions VAT will go up by 2.5 per cent.
Read the small print!
George Osborne said: “No more 75ps from us’.
Well, 2.5 per cent in times 2.5 per cent out equals nowt – and that’s all we pensioners will get from this government.
Tony Fowle’s next target is the “iniquitous” council tax. Are the Olde English Wessex Group totally against all that Maggie stood for?
