Are local residents aware of the latest stealth tax coming soon to a local authority near you?
The Workplace Parking Levy will impose a £450 annual fine (sorry tax) on every parking place an employer provides for its employees.
The great news for employees is that employers will be able to pass this cost on to them.
I am a local employer of 22 people and my business simply cannot absorb yet another level of punitive taxation.
So I, like many others I suspect, will be forced to pass this cost on to my hard-working and already over-taxed employees.
The Workplace Parking Levy is currently being implemented in Nottingham and could shortly be rolled out across the country.
I wonder if the public sector staff at our local authorities will be exempt from this tax?
Answers on a postcard please!
