David Clutterbuck hits out at his former party and suggests the whole cabinet should consider its position, over the cost of the reef going up (Letters, January 28).

I believe one person should consider her position – Cllr Beverley Dunlop, the cabinet member responsible for it.

To be fair to her, she correctly high-lighted that the cabinet was all male and implied she could do a better job.

This resulted in Cllr Michael Filer being the gentleman he is and standing to one side to allow her in – particularly at the time his wife Cllr Anne Filer was the mayor.

It is clear from a number of events that she is clearly not ready: l The control of the sale of tickets and programmes for the Air Festival – one councillor has been expelled from her party due to an “indiscretion”. The cabinet member should have ensured basic controls.

l Nearly every project that she has control of is now either on hold or stopped, including the ice rink.

l Despite requests from myself and other Queens Park residents under the Freedom of Information Act to find exactly what is happening with Queens Park golf course, some nine months on there is no answer.

Now that Cllr Anne Filer has served as Mayor (an excellent one at that!) I believe Cllr Dunlop should return the goodwill gesture and let Cllr Michael Filer return to his rightful position.
