Further to the article regarding Branksome Rec (Daily Echo, January 3) I wholly concur with Cllr Philip Eades’ and Mrs Natalie Rose’s comments that the proposed public meeting affects the residents of Branksome much more than any other residents of Poole.

Not every resident of Poole supports the football club or would come along to use the proposed new facilities.

Therefore this meeting should be held locally to enable all interested parties to attend.

After all, if the supporters of the football club have difficulties finding their way to Branksome for a public meeting, then they would have similar problems locating the rec for matches.

Why not hold the public meeting at the time of a football match, 3pm on a Saturday, local to Branksome Rec?

Or is Cllr Peter Adams concerned that some of the problems highlighted by the residents over the proposed scheme would be all too evident?

So come on Poole Council, play fair over our Rec.

It is not fair to restrict attendance to those who are able to get to Poole town centre on a January evening. Even a cursory glance at bus timetables will show that public transport does not assist Branksome residents who are without cars.
