While enjoying the panoramic views of our seven miles of golden sands and the beautiful Purbecks from the cliff top on Cliff Drive, Canford Cliffs I was incensed to witness an adult couple walking with another supposedly grown up person and a dog roaming freely nearby.

I wondered whose dog it was, especially when it did its business on the beach.

I watched in horror as these three adults walked past the dog mess and then turned back on themselves only to cover up the mess with sand using their feet.

I know the majority of dog handlers are responsible people but to me this is totally unacceptable behaviour and should not go unpunished.

If we cannot get dog wardens to patrol our beaches then a ban should be enforced.

It is bad enough stepping in the stuff in our parks, pavements roads etc but at least here we have our shoes on.

Young children should not be put at risk and I sincerely hope the people who were responsible for this outrage read this letter and cringe with embarrassment.
