REGARDLESS of public needs, the banking system has all but quit our high streets.
Less cashpoints, less cash.
Now there is talk of local councils overhauling pay and park metres and replacing them with payment via a mobile phone app.
No cash required. Everything today resolved around maximum profits being made with the least amount of effort.
Many of the elderly who grew up with hands-free, customer-friendly service, appear to have been ‘thrown to the lions’.
Those unable to comply with orders will have to desert their local independent high street traders and seek a service out of town that offers free, no hassle parking.
Big business will win yet again and the wheel will have gone full circle.
