HOW can the government justify putting more and more money into the NHS, when surely it would be better spent going into social care?

The NHS wouldn’t be so stressed or stretched, if the beds that are at present taken up by people who don’t medically need to be there, could be cared for in their own homes.

Emptying these beds would also have the knock on effect of freeing up the ambulances.

Once upon a time, convalescent homes played an essential roll in getting hospital beds freed up.

Wouldn’t it make sense to open Nightingale hubs or similar where a lesser level of care is required, which could be geared up with the express task of assessing people and their needs, so as to be cared for at home.

These hubs could be linked to the social care system, which again would free up the NHS.
