SURELY this cannot be sensible?
I am sitting in my garden whilst a neighbour is having a bonfire near the end of my garden causing me to have to return indoors and close all my windows and doors to avoid the awful smell.
Are we not in an amber warning area in Dorset.
Shouldn’t that include fires in gardens as they are surrounded by wooden fences, bushes and trees and we live in such a built up area.
In 2021 I am surprised it is still legal to have garden bonfires causing pollution to the surrounding area especially as we now have green garden bins for any garden rubbish, which can then be recycled.
Am I the only one with a strong aversion to this old fashioned practice?
I would love to know other readers thoughts.
Perhaps we should start a petition to call for BCP Council to change the bylaws regarding garden bonfires.
