I AM writing in support of the letter published today praising the power of the good neighbour.

If any readers were watching the council cabinet meeting this morning they would know that our vision for the future for BCP is very much based on an ethos of valuing people, recognising their strengths and building on these strengths to bring out the best in everyone.

In this way we will enable our communities to be strong and vibrant, helping each other to thrive and celebrating diversity of all kinds.

We know how much people from all walks of life are finding life very difficult at the moment, so this work is all the more important.

We have pledged our commitment to and investment in our residents as they are necessarily at the heart of everything that we do as a council.

Our ambition is that everyone feels safe, engaged and included in any changes that happen within their locality, only in this way can we achieve our high ambitions for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

There is much work still to do, but our resolve is strong and the political will and leadership is very much in place, as is the expertise and dedication of our officers.
