MY husband and I have continued to stay home, no mixing with family or friends as during the first lockdown.

My weekly shop for food to my local Sainsburys today was quite an eye opener.

The “non essential goods area” was very busy. Clothes, household goods, toys, Christmas presents etc were filling up shoppers’ trollies.

I bet all the small retailers that would normally be doing a good trade in these goods are fuming as they are not allowed to open.

Where is the justice in this or have I completely misunderstood the current Covid rules?
