I HAVE just read an article stating that because of the Covid virus, cancer hospital referrals are down by 46 per cent.
Many cancer patients face long delays before they stand any chance of seeing a hospital consultant and many have had chemotherapy treatment stopped.
I am finding this very difficult to understand due to the fact that in Dorset we have hospitals such as Bournemouth, Poole, Dorchester, and smaller hospitals such as Christchurch, Wimborne Blandford.
Why, I wonder, could one of these hospitals not have been kept Covid-free?
This would have then allowed cancer care to have been uninterrupted and for many urgent operations to have been carried out.
